Roya Shakibaei

Roya Shakibaei, born in 1958 in Tehran was attracted to Russian literature as a teenager and introduced to western literature after moving to the United States. Upon her return to Iran, she completed her university degree in Law and joined the Red Cross sector of the United Nations Office in Tehran. The Color of Blood is her first novel based on personal experiences during her mission to Afghanistan. She later quit her job in the UN to focus on writing. She has published several short stories and her second novel Trees of Elahieh is forthcoming.
